Integrated GPU vs. Gothic II

Greetings everyone!

Small introduction: I recently switched into new laptop. MSI GP62. I think.

And here's the problem: It has two GPUs. Intel HD 630 and GeForce GTX 1050. Gothic 2: NotR doesn't see the second GPU. I can only use Intel chipset which is shit, because I like to play with graphic mod L'Hiver 1.1 and HD 630 struggles more than my old desktop GPU.
This forces me to install this so called "DX11 Mod". B-U-T. Either this laptop is not powerful enough to handle old Gothic + DX11 Mod + L'hiver graphic overhaul, or those mods are poorly optimized, or just enigne is way too old and generates stutter regardless of my hardware, or whatever, because it really doesn't matter to me...


I just have one simple question: It there any way to force Gothic into using my second GPU without DX11 mod. I'll be fine with Gothic 2 + L'hiver. Other mods? Emulator? Something?

If the answer to previous question is "no", then I have following question: If not (pardon me for not reading DX11 mod manual/FAQ) then is there any way to disable most of those graphical options of DX11 and basically leaving it with only DX11-using feature?

Maybe I'm wrong here, but if your willing to switch GPU's, so in that case, go to your desktop, right click on "my computer", manage, seek for device manager, display adapters and disable one of your choice. Hope that helps.

Sadly, this doesn't work. This is tutorial for desktop PC. My Nvidia panel doesn't have half of the options He modifies. I tried to modify Gothic2.exe properties but it doesn't make any difference. Gothic doesn't see the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 doesn't initiate and "take over" the control from integrated GPU.

Tried it. You are kind wrong. As far as I know, when I browsed the web, new laptops are somehow forced to use integrated chip. It is somehow connected to the laptop's display and second GPU is not. Dunno the details, but disabling it lowered my resolution, bottlenecked graphics even more, etc.

I dont know if there is any difference between desktop and laptop interface..

Sadly, there is. In Nvidia Panel I just have three option under "3D Settings" tab. I don't have rest of them: Display, Video and Stereoscopic 3D are not there.
